These dates represent the mandatory public holidays in 2025 for general sectors such as construction, industries, offices, and more. At WIT Andorra, we are prepared to offer you advice on how best to adapt these regulations to the needs of your company.

Which sectors are affected?

Sectors such as construction, industries, offices, banking entities, hair salons, transport and distribution services, and other sectors not directly linked to tourism must follow this calendar with the established public holidays. These public holidays are paid, non-recoverable, and mandatory. If the company requires services on these days, it must request prior authorization from the competent ministry or, in case of urgency, make a subsequent communication with the risk of sanctions if not properly justified.

Adaptations for the Tourism Sector

The calendar also provides flexibility for sectors directly linked to tourism. Dates can be shifted by agreement between the parties, except for four immovable holidays: New Year’s Day (January 1), Constitution Day (March 14), the feast of Our Lady of Meritxell (September 8), and Christmas Day (December 25). If it is necessary to work on these dates, it must be compensated with another public holiday and an additional paid day.

Local Holidays and Other Considerations

In addition to the 14 general public holidays, each parish can designate up to four mandatory local holidays. This provides some variability, which each company must take into account based on their location. It is also established that public holidays cannot be moved to coincide with the usual weekly rest day, ensuring that workers’ rights are respected. At WIT Andorra, we hope you make the most of these public holidays, offering our support for any needs you may have. They are perfect occasions to disconnect, enjoy the beauty of Andorra, and spend quality time with loved ones. If you have any questions, do not hesitate to contactus. Happy holidays and a prosperous 2025!
